   University of Detroit Jesuit has opened the shortened boys hockey season on fire with three straight wins and earning a No. 1 ranking in Division 2.

   Jesuit rallied to beat Trenton 3-2 in an overtime thriller on Saturday. Senior Max Marquette scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime. Senior Xavier Villaire added a goal. Senior Blake Nowak stopped 33 shots in goal.

 

   The Cubs scored four goals in the third period on Friday to beat rival Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice.  Senior Parker Anderson scored two goals, senior Conner McCowell and Marquette added goals. Nowak earned the shutout, making 37 saves.

   Jesuit opened the season with a wild game over South Lyon on Feb. 8.

   The Cubs host Port Huron Northern tonight (Feb. 16) at Hazel Park Ice Arena.
