Division 2 No. 1 Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice controlled rival Division 3 No. 6 Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood 6-2 in boys hockey action Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Oak Park Ice Arena.
Brother Rice improved to 13-2-1 with the victory. Cranbrook fell to 9-8-1.
The Warriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but the Cranes were able to close the gap to 3-2 after two periods. The Warriors closed out the game with
three goals in the third period.
Senior D.J. Dixon and senior Nick Marone both had two goals and an assist to lead the Warriors.
Senior Nick Dippre and senior Ryan Murphy added goals.
Junior Drake Danou earned the victory in goal, making 22 saves.
Brother Rice will host Lake Forest (Ill.) Academy on Friday, Jan. 31, at Oak Park Ice Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
